Elementary Body Systems is the perfect course for our future doctors, nurses, radiologists, or students interested in the human body. The course is housed in Google Classroom-which makes it easy for students to log in when ready to work on activities and labs from home. This is a 10 unit course, but students have up to a year to complete.
The following units will be covered:
Integumentary System
-paper skin model
-make an edible cake to represent the layers
Skeletal System
-qtip skeleton man
Muscular System
-make a muscle cell using straws/tape
Nervous System
-play doh neuron
Endocrine System
Cardiovascular System
-play doh heart
-heart function bottle
Lymphatic System
Respiratory System
-play doh lungs
-plastic bag lung
Digestive System
-ziploc bag digestion
Urinary System
-plastic filter kidney
Students will be provided with mini lessons, short Youtube video clips, body system drawing assignments, and a lab for each unit.
This class is perfect for any elementary aged student. With the younger ones, some parent help maybe needed to help in Google Classroom with links. Students fourth grade and up can work on the class independently. Each week students will upload an image of their body system drawing, and lab (optional but a fun part of the class).
Note: The reproductive system will not be covered in this course. Most parents prefer to cover this unit separately so I have not included it in this course.
