This homeroom class is set up for gifted students who wish to meet with like-minded peers on a frequent basis. It serves as a friendly check-in space packed full of thought-provoking information. After class, I always provide a lengthy classroom summary with additional resources for those who would like to dive into a topic deeper. (As a certified talented and gifted teacher, I have extensive experience working with students in the profoundly gifted population as well as with students who identify as twice-exceptional.) This time will be special, and allow students to thrive in a fun atmosphere. We will meet at 8:45am EST so feel free to eat breakfast with us.
Here's a preview of our routine:

Then students will be provided the following supplementation-researching and writing about a time that fingerprinting helped free a person from jail, an at home lab to try fingerprinting glasses in the kitchen cabinet, and/or creating a fingerprint science timeline to show the progress in fingerprint science. The supplementation will be well rounded with optional activities in L Arts, History, Math, and Art on the topic of the week.
Gifted education in schools or homeschool programs is important because it can help gifted students reach their full potential and make continuous progress in education levels. Gifted students may need more intellectual stimulation than a regular classroom can provide, and gifted education programs can help meet their needs. These programs can include:
Challenging curriculum: Gifted students need an academic environment that challenges them and helps them grow intellectually.
Enrichment: Gifted education programs can include enrichment activities that go beyond the basic curriculum.
Acceleration: Gifted education programs can offer accelerated learning opportunities.
Social and emotional support: Gifted students may need appropriate social and emotional support.
Gifted education can help gifted students in many areas, including academic disciplines, performing arts, sports, and other professions. It can also help prevent boredom and frustration, and encourage critical thinking and creativity.
