Artistic Anatomy (6 Weeks: Grades 5-12)
Learning about the body, can be lots of fun! In this unique anatomy course, art and science will be combined to help students remember key vocabulary.
This is one of Mrs. Collins' most popular classes.
Class Info:
Traditionally, art and science have been treated as two separate disciplines, but when they are studied together it’s clear to see the impact one has on the other. Students remember material easily when they are able to create diagrams. In this course, various body systems/parts will be introduced. Students will draw a different body system each week, as a short science lesson is presented via Google Slides and/or pre-recorded videos. Once the diagram is completed, students are free to let their creative side show as each student adds details, texture, layering and colors to their diagram. The instructor will also provide additional supplementation to try at home (create a plastic bottle lung, edible blood, q-tip skeleton and much more).
REQUIREMENTS:
No previous experience is needed. These will be basic anatomy diagrams, that beginner and advanced students can draw. Our more advanced students, can add more details and our beginners can make silhouette drawings, if they like.
