Middle School Chemistry (August 2026-December 2026)

Through interactive learning and simple experimentation, students will explore the basics of chemistry in this 14-lesson semester unit study. Each open-and-go lesson is filled with discoveries about how our world is affected by molecular-level changes. This course features step-by-step lesson instructions, captivating unit videos, and easy to follow experiments. This course is recommended for Grades 5–8, though some younger children may enjoy participating.
The course will feature a hybrid learning experience with a mix of live Zoom labs and teacher created video lessons. Students will meet every other week to encourage independent learning and provide less commitment to a weekly Zoom. Lessons will be housed in Google Classroom, which provides students an easy way to log into the program when convenient. Each week will feature a lesson, vocabulary, assignments, labs, and graded assessments. Each week will feature deadlines, giving students a full 7 days to complete the weekly assignments.
Platform: Google Classroom
Method: Hybrid-Live Group Zooms, Teacher Videos, & Self Paced Assignments
Families will be provided a letter of completion once all assignments are completed. Grading will also be provided via Wayground Quizizz.

**A workbook will be needed for this course. Families that register before August 1, will receive the workbook in the mail. Late registration after August 1 will need to purchase their own workbook. A link will be mailed out to the family. The workbook is $6.99.
