The history of "slime" as we know it includes the accidental discovery of Silly Putty in 1943 and Mattel's 1976 "Slime" toy, but the substance's roots go much deeper. The concept of slimy, viscous substances can be found in literary monsters like H.P. Lovecraft's shoggoths and in natural phenomena like slime molds. The modern DIY slime trend exploded in 2016 due to social media, creating a global community of "slimers" and making slime a popular form of ASMR content.

This fun class will present to you why slime is the coolest! You will leave with lots of slime knowledge and recipes to try.
Projects:
Students will be provided three projects (optional-but fun).
-The first one is to create an ASMR slime video. They will be presented with examples, and then the chance to create their own video.
-The second one will be at the end of the class as an end-of-the class project. The student will create their own personal slime recipe. A template will be provided for both age groups to help with organizing the steps. The student will upload a written step template and a visual of the completed slime created.
-The third one is to design their own slime company logo and name their company. A template will be provided for help and guidance, but students are encouraged to be creative and create a design.
Students will be trying out over 40 different slime recipes. All students will need access to Youtube, because lots of links of Youtube safe slime videos with recipes will be provided.
The course normally takes about 6 weeks to complete, but the student can move at a pace that works best for them. They will have access to the course for 12 months.
